Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Business, Economics & Accounting Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire students to develop strong analytical, financial, and critical thinking skills. The teacher will prepare students for academic success through effective instruction, assessment, and classroom management while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting in accordance with the school's curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' diverse learning needs.
- Incorporate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Design, administer, and evaluate assignments, quizzes, examinations, and coursework.
- Monitor and assess students' academic progress regularly.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Identify students requiring academic support and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Promote active student engagement, participation, and independent learning.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of business concepts.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum planning, moderation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop lesson plans and teaching resources aligned with curriculum standards.
- Stay updated with developments in Business, Economics, and Accounting education.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding students' academic progress and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership to improve student outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
Other Responsibilities
- Supervise students during assigned duties and school activities.
- Maintain accurate academic records and reports.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the Head of Department or School Management.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification is preferred.
- Cambridge IGCSE / A Level teaching certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in Business Studies, Economics, or Accounting.
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or Cambridge International AS & A Level is highly preferred.
- International school teaching experience is an advantage.
