Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Computing & ICT Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and innovative Computing and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) lessons that develop students' digital literacy, computational thinking, programming, and problem-solving skills. The teacher will inspire students to become confident and responsible users of technology while preparing them for future academic and career success.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Computing and ICT lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach topics such as digital literacy, programming, coding, computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, databases, and emerging technologies.
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' varying learning needs.
- Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methods into classroom instruction.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Design and administer assessments, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Monitor and evaluate students' academic progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate student records and academic reports.
Classroom & ICT Lab Management
- Maintain a safe, organized, and effective ICT learning environment.
- Ensure the proper use and care of computer equipment and technology resources.
- Promote responsible digital citizenship and online safety.
Curriculum Development
- Develop lesson plans, learning resources, and practical activities.
- Participate in curriculum planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with current trends in Computing, ICT, and educational technology.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress.
- Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development activities.
Other Responsibilities
- Support coding clubs, robotics, STEM activities, or ICT competitions where applicable.
- Supervise students during assigned duties and school events.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department or School Management.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, ICT, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification or certification is preferred.
- Cambridge or international curriculum training is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Computing, ICT, or Computer Science.
- Experience teaching Cambridge, IGCSE, or other international curricula is preferred.
- Experience in an international school environment is an advantage.
