Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for promoting students' physical fitness, health, teamwork, and overall wellbeing through engaging and inclusive physical education programs. The teacher will encourage students to develop healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, and lifelong participation in physical activities while ensuring a safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach a variety of sports, games, fitness activities, and physical skills appropriate to students' age and ability.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Differentiate instruction to meet students' individual needs and abilities.
- Integrate modern teaching strategies and educational technology where appropriate.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Assess students' physical development, participation, and skill progression.
- Maintain accurate records of students' performance and attendance.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress with parents when required.
- Encourage students to set and achieve personal fitness goals.
Classroom & Safety Management
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment during all PE lessons and sports activities.
- Monitor the proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
- Enforce school safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Promote positive behavior and teamwork among students.
Sports & Extracurricular Activities
- Organize and coach school sports teams, competitions, and tournaments.
- Assist in planning and coordinating Sports Day and other physical activity events.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular sports programs.
Communication & Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' participation and development.
- Participate in school meetings, events, and professional development activities.
Other Responsibilities
- Supervise students during assigned duties and school activities.
- Support school events and community activities when required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Department or School Management.
Job Requirements (JR)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Health Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification or certification is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Physical Education.
- Experience teaching in an international school is preferred.
- Experience coaching school sports teams is an advantage.
