Welcome to KINGS International School – Thuwunna Campus (Secondary)

Lower Secondary (Year 7-9)

Holistic and Supportive Journey Toward Academic Excellence

Lower Secondary at our school serves as the foundation for students’ academic, personal, and social development. Guided by our commitment to holistic education and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Years 7 to 9 are designed to build strong learning habits, nurture curiosity, and prepare students confidently for the rigor of IGCSE.

As a Cambridge-accredited school, we align our Lower Secondary curriculum with international standards while ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Students are introduced to a broad spectrum of subjects that nurture analytical skills, creativity, and foundational knowledge across disciplines. Our academic program is complemented by continuous assessments and personalized feedback systems that help students understand themselves as learners and progress with clarity and purpose.

Our teacher profiles remain one of our strongest pillars. Lower Secondary students benefit from a highly experienced teaching team that upholds high expectations while maintaining a warm, supportive environment. Teachers work closely with students to build discipline, resilience, and confidence; qualities essential for success in the later IGCSE years.

Student life is vibrant and purposeful. While our culture is academically oriented, we place equal value on broadening student exposure and enhancing quality of life. Students participate in sports programs, well-being initiatives, and exciting extracurricular activities. Leadership skills are cultivated through our Student Council, as well as House Captains across five competitive houses, giving younger students real opportunities to develop responsibility and voice.

We are committed to ensuring every student feels supported. Our student support services include counseling, academic intervention programs, and personalized career and future-education guidance to help students explore pathways early and meaningfully.

This year, we awarded scholarships to 10% of students from Years 9 to 11, based on academic merit and need. We are committed to expanding this initiative, ensuring that excellence remains accessible.

Lower Secondary at our school is more than just preparation, it is transformation. It is a stage where students build identity, develop discipline, and discover their potential in a nurturing yet ambitious environment.

Upper Secondary (Year 10–11: IGCSE)

Excellence, Discipline, and World-Class Achievement

Upper Secondary marks a pivotal stage in our students’ academic journey, and our Cambridge IGCSE programme is designed to push potential, deepen mastery, and produce exceptional outcomes. As a proud Cambridge School, we offer the full 2-year Cambridge IGCSE programme, delivering globally recognized qualifications that prepare students for A-Levels, university admission, and future success.

Our academic results reflect our culture of excellence. In the 2025 May/June IGCSE series, our students achieved an outstanding 78% A* to A, continuing our consistent record of over 70% top grades over the past years. These outcomes are not accidental; they are the result of disciplined structures, relentless support, and a highly committed teaching faculty.

The Upper Secondary teaching team is composed of deeply experienced educators who carry a “never-say-die” attitude toward student achievement. Each Year 11 teacher works closely with students through structured revision programs, intensive feedback cycles, and personalized academic support to ensure that every learner maximizes their performance. This culture of perseverance and partnership defines our IGCSE success.

Students can choose from a rigorous and diverse subject suite, including: First Language English, English as a Second Language, E-Maths, A-Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business, Economics, Accounting, ICT, and Computer Science. Our curriculum encourages depth, academic resilience, and skill-based learning that aligns with global expectations.

While the academic focus is intense, student life remains enriching and holistic. Students participate in sports, community service initiatives, and high-impact ECAs such as Podcasting, Newsletter Team, AI Club, and Content Creation. Leadership opportunities continue through the Student Council and House Captaincy, allowing IGCSE students to model maturity and responsibility to the rest of the school.

We also nurture student well-being through comprehensive support services, including counseling, academic support, and expert guidance on future education pathways. Our career exposure programs bring in industry professionals, helping students explore career directions early and confidently.

This year, 10% of our students from Years 9–11 received scholarships based on academic excellence and financial need. We remain committed to expanding this program to reward achievement and support deserving learners.

Upper Secondary at our school is defined by ambition, discipline, and high standards. It is where students shape their future and where excellence is both expected and achieved.
